Dalziel travelled to Renfrew for this Scottish Cup second round tie and safely progressed into the next stage. Goals from Kevin Burns and Ryan Grant gave the visitors a convincing and deserved victory.
Dalziel FP (CAL) 0 - 1 Doune Castle Ams
A disappointing display saw Dalziel drop valuable home points. Dalziel opened strongly and created a few good chances in the first 20 mins, however a combination of bad luck and slack finishing resulted in the game being goalless at half time. Doune Castle had started to come into the game towards half time making for an even contest, and this continued into the second half. As the game progressed Doune Castle proved dangerous at set pieces. The deadlock was broken with 20 mins remaining when the Stirling side broke away and their forward reached the ball ahead of the Dalziel keeper and flicked the ball into the net.
Dalziel pushed hard for the equaliser but failed to take any chances that they created.
