Dalziel Rugby Club staged their 17th Annual Youth Rugby Festival at Dalziel Park on Saturday 22nd April. In what has developed into the biggest tournament of its kind in Scotland teams from age groups P3 through to Under 18 enjoyed a day of rugby with competition organised on a league basis at each level.

Local clubs East Kilbride, Uddingston, Strathaven and Cambuslang participated in the Mini Festival embracing P3 through to P7. Some fun participation for P1/P2’s was also included.

Dunfermline, Ayr and GHA guested in the S1 and S2 competition with Glasgow Hawks, Currie and Livingston represented in the Under 15 and Under 16 teams.

English visitors Melton Mowbray joined Dunbar, Whitecraigs and the Inverness based Highland club in the Under 18 tournament

The Dalziel club were represented at all levels with the festival kicking off at 10am lasting through till late afternoon with a food tent available throughout to add to the festival’s enjoyment.

A Schools Championship which involves combined S1/S2 teams mainly drawn from Lanarkshire schools preceded the Festival on Friday the 21st April again with a 10am kick off.
