Dalziel Dragons 10’s Events Delight

Dalziel Dragons U15's
The Dalziel U 15 squad recently celebrated a fine end to the playing season winning two invitation 10’s events and coming second in a third invitation event.

The squad was invited to take part in the Murrayfield Wanderers 10’s event for the first time and promptly and soundly beat their opposition to win the trophy.

The following week a different squad of 15 attended the Livingston 10’s event (again for the first time) and once more beat all comers to win their second competition.

Their final event was the Stirling County 10’s event. Once again a squad of lads (each event had a different squad representation to give all the lads a good chance of playing), played extremely well. Despite starting slowly and being beaten by the ‘B’ side from Stirling they picked up the pace and standard and won the following games to set up a decider against the ‘A’ Stirling side who given their results in the event thought they would take Dalziel to the cleaners. However the lads had by now re-captured the form that had seen them do so well in the previous two 10’s events and Stirling hung on to win with a narrow margin of a converted try.

This was the first time the lads had played the shortened game and they showed all the skill and endeavour they are capable of.

Good luck for next season!
